Use creativity when brushing. With babies, oral health is as simple as wiping the inside of their mouths, gums and lips with a clean, warm towel once a day to eliminate residue from food and liquids. Once the first tooth comes in, there are limitless activities you can incorporate to make brushing fun. Create or teach your kids a song about brushing that explains the process step-by-step — from applying toothpaste to their toothbrush to their final rinse. Purchase a quirky timer to count down the time to a perfect smile. Buy your kids a child-friendly, fun- themed bathroom stool so they can reach the sink safely. Let them pick out their favorite character themed toothbrush, toothpaste, rinse cup and mouthwash. And don’t forget to add daily flossing to your child’s health routine.
